3 Effective Blog Posting Tips

stay focusedBlogging to get the right kind or target traffic takes more than just sitting down and writing a blog post. It’s more about knowing the keywords to create content that makes a difference to your readers.

That’s the reason there are so many useless blogs cluttering up Cyber Space today, bloggers just aren’t getting the point of blogging when there is competition.

When you do your keyword research and find the best keywords, which doesn’t always mean the top keywords in your niche, you then need to use those keywords in the right way to get and keep your target audience as blog visitors.

You need to work to create blog posts that are more than effective, you need to create posts that help people too. How do you make sure that you do that? Let’s find that out in the article below…

You may be blogging and have different ideas about what blogging is but when it come right down to the basics blogging really just a form of article marketing. Articles or blog posts can be long articles or short articles, it doesn’t always matter.

What does matter however if that you know how to SEO or optimize your articles (posts) for search engines in order to get as much targeted traffic as it takes to meet your goal. For me, as a I work from home and blog for profit it’s about making money.

Keep Them Reading All They Way To The Click

1. My Eyes Hurt, Gotta Go

I have been on many blogs where I wondered what the blog owner was thinking with their colour scheme choice and their fonts. If I am not comfortable when reading a blog post, for whatever reason, I don’t usually stick around. Well unless it’s the only place I can find the info I am looking for.

Having a easy on the eyes blog theme can help you to keep your visitors on your site longer and that can mean more income. You have to keep them longer than it takes to hit the back button.

2. Say What You Have To Say

It’s fine landing on a blog page after conducting a search in your favourite search engine but if you have to wade through too much filler content it tends to make one want to leave and find a better site, that’s not wasting my time with non relevant filler.

Say what you have to say and stop thinking about word counts.

3. Use A Proper Keyword Density Without Spamming

It is vital to use your keywords for the post you have planned to write. To get the best results from search engines it can take a specific keyword density.

By best results I am talking about positioning in search results pages. It’s not much help to you and your bottom-line if you are on page 10 or even page 4 of search results as most people tend to redefine their search text after only checking as far as page two of the results, so page three doesn’t get many eyes on them and any thing further down than that shouldn’t expect much if any traffic.

I tend to use a keyword density somewhere between 3 and 5 percent, meaning for every one hundred words I will use my keyword 3 to 5 times. Anything less may not get any attention while having too high a keyword density may appear spammy.

Now I see a lot of people today who write for search engines and not for their human readers. Those pages are using spun to death using article spinners. Don’t get me wrong, I love my article spinner, The Best Spinner, but I use it wisely and write for humans.

Focus on writing informative blog posts and of course use your keywords with the right density but keep your human readers in mind and you should do fine. It’s when you forget about us, your readers, that things go down hill SEO wise.

Five Blogging Tips That Can Make The Difference

anyone can blog for profitMore than a decade ago I became a work from home marketer. That was before blogging was popular like it is today so my sites were all static sites and sales pages.

Once I learned about blogging for profit I was all over it. I started on free blogging platforms like WordPress.com and Blogspot.com to get a feel for blogging.

It wasn’t long before I started converting my sites to self-hosted blogs. I host most of my blogs at HostGator.com as I have an account that allows me to host multiple domains with just one account. Unlimited Domain Hosting Only $9.95 a Month

My blogs get a lot more attention from search engines as they tend to love blogs that are updated regularly. Today blogging is about the most popular way to make money for work at home bloggers blogging for profit like myself and is why they are so popular today.

1. Use Your Blog Post Title To Draw More Readers

better blog titlesPeople use their favourite search engines to find whatever’s on their mind. They type in a phrase and hit enter.

The listed usually show the page title and is what I use to judge the pages I click. If the title is way off topic I move on to the next in the list. So being first isn’t always going to get you the click.

Titles need to grab my attention or you may never get me to your site and miss an opportunity to impress me with your know-how.

Take the time it takes to come up with a quality title, it’s that important as there are so many others to choose from when looking through search engines. It’s that first click that gets us to your post page, without it you may not get many visitors.

2. Don’t Forget Your Description And Tags

WordPress blogs are great but they don’t always get enough SEO so for that I use the free plugin All-In-One SEO so that I can add a description to the post which can play a big role in the search engine listing.

Next I use the tagging option to add more tags that I don’t want to include as my main keywords. These two options are options missed by so many bloggers that you can easily use them to pass those who don’t use them.

3. Break Up Your Text Using Headings

I do a lot of reading and I’m a slow reader so I like to scan articles for the content I am looking for. Pages that are all text with no breaks make for hard reading in my opinion. So for this reason I have made a point of using headings.

Not only do heading make it easy for visitors to read or scan your content it also helps search engines evaluate your content as heading usually indicate some importance.

Remember your keywords always play a role so be sure to use them in headings.

4. A Picture Can Add Value To A Post

work from home MonctonHope I didn’t scare you. I didn’t have time to comb my hair before Jenny took my picture.

Pictures can just say so much or they can be just for fun but they do help to break up a page and can make it easier to read.

Usually I use images to press a point but for this particular image I was just having fun.

However, as much fun as images can be they can’t be read by search engines. There is an option that will allow you to add text and keywords the search engines can read. I am talking about the ALT tag. Just don’t use them to spam as the search bots aren’t stupid and you will likely pay for spamming them.

5. You Need Your Reader’s Input

blog-commenting MonctonNothing gets me more excited that to see someone has responded to a post I’ve written with a comment. I love comments and do a lot of commenting myself, on other people’s blogs of course.

I approve or reject every single comment I get as there are a lot of comment spammers today, more than there ever were.

Commenting can add value to your blog and value can mean more visitors and better ranking. This is a big reason I don’t allow spammer’s comments. They tend to devalue a blog. Get your readers involved by writing posts that ask questions.

Okay, now it’s your turn. After reading or scanning my content do you have any other blogging tips my other readers would like to know or perhaps they should know?

5 Reasons You Might Want To Become A Blogger

I work from home and have numerous blogs in a variety of niches and visit many related blogs daily. It’s almost mind blowing to think about just how many blogs there are spread around the net today. I would say a countless number because I can only count so high.

Why bother having a blog at all? How can you expect to be heard above the din of all those other related blogs? Well don’t listen to everything you hear. I started a number of blogs and even though hundreds of thousands have come before me I still make money and get my share of traffic.

1. I Just Need An Outlet To Share Things

As a fishing fanatic I can get quite excited about something new or even something old but new to me. I am not one who likes to keep secrets from my fishing buddies and have to tell them what I have learned. My fishing related blogs give me that outlet and people read them and I make money.

Not every one blogs to make money like I do. My son for example love to talk and complain about so many things which makes blogging perfect him because he doesn’t really care who and how many listen, as long as someone is listening.

2. Hooking Up Online

I belong to a few fishing related groups but we don’t live close to each other so for us being able to communicate and share online is the answer. For me there are so many relevant forums we can join that provides a great place to share info.

I am not a social networking guy but having a blog and friends with blogs where we can communicate long distance works that best in my opinion. When anyone responses to my blog posts with a comment I get notified immediately.

3. Getting Behind A Great Cause

I was just listening to the radio and heard of a family that had been burned out of their home. Because of the Internet and concerned bloggers a campaign was started to raise money to help them. In just one weekend they raised $18,000. Blogging is such a great way to get the word out.

When I had my first heart attack it was personal blogs I went to in order to learn more about my condition. I actually got more help there than from my own doctor.

4. Learning More About What We Want To Know

Using acoustic guitar as an example because I am still learning how to play guitar, I have found acoustic guitar related blogs very helpful as I usually get both the pros and cons when it come to guitar related products. When I land on a business site I seem to only get the best things mentioned.

Note: Because most blogs I visit are personal blogs I usually have to verify the details that interest me as individuals sometimes exaggerate the facts. Not pointing the finger at any fishing friends of course.

Using other people’s blogs to keep up with the latest and hottest thing on the market is great because I usually find those things that convince me one way or the other in my decision making.

5. Using Blogging To Help Others

You don’t have to be an expert to help people, you just need to know something they may not know already. Again going back to fishing or guitar playing I can help others because I may be at a level they are not at yet, even though I am not an expert.

So are you expert enough to help others? What do you know that could help others. This is how I started as a computer instructor. I learned more than most and for that reason was able to teach beginners. To them I was the expert but to an advanced user I wouldn’t be such an expert.

It’s all about the audience you have.

Starting a niche focused blog today can put you up against a lot of competition and can be a challenge to say the least but it’s doable with the right research to find the words that are key to your success. I started blogging to a local audience by including locations in my little corner of the world and today have grown into a much larger audience.

Can Blogging Actually Increase Your Income

It’s scary just how many sites you’ll find that promise to help you make money online while you work from home in your underwear. First, don’t invite me to your house when you’re working and second, don’t believe everything you read online. I know that may come as a shock but not everything online is the truth, especially when people are trying to get money from you.

These kind of sites turn many people off before they get a chance to really learn how to make money working from home, turning them into skeptics, like my friend JP and his friend Bill who were both scammed out of a lot of money with zero results.

The sad thing is that they should have known better than to walk blindly into anything after having a history with MLM and Network Marketing, but they still did it because they were blinded by the light of hope and riches.

The Answer Is Research, Lots of It

You should always do the research as there are many legit methods for making money online, you just need to learn what to look for. The first thing I look for is how easy they say it is. If they say it’s easy as pie I’m out of there because it’s actually hard work so you really earn the money you make.

One of the methods that works well for me is blogging and it’s something anyone can, even for free. The earning money part however takes planning and research to get it right. So don’t start blogging until you have researched your ideas so that you know your competition and find keywords you can make money with.

With blogging you can do so many things to make money. I myself prefer affiliate marketing and highly recommend the Super Affiliate Handbook as it’s the ebook that taught me how to make affiliate earnings through blogging.

The explanation blogging is one of the best ways to earn income online is because it can be used in various ways to help boost your earning streams. For instance, you can make money only on ads, but you may also sell ad space, publicize associate products, sell your own products and do a lot more things to earn income.

Unlike any other web business strategies, blogging has the most potential to give you the maximum return on your investment. Best yet, most folks earn money from blogging without even investing their own money!

Some of the top blog writers out there make six-figure incomes with a lifestyle to match. Of course, this kind of money only comes after years of savvy promoting, high quality content and numerous hours of tough work but it is attainable for those willing to put in the same amount of effort. Regardless, if you start blogging now, you can put yourself in a position to make money further down the road. Google likes sites to have aged a bit before rewarding them with a higher rank in the result pages so the sooner you start, the sooner you will be on the way to owning a profitable blog.

The author lists various methods to earn money online and off on his popular internet site. If you would like to learn how to earn money by blogging there are numerous resources available to you both on the writers website and by doing a search on Google.

keyword researchI work at home and today I am having success but I didn’t happen immediately as I entered niches for the money and not because of my knowledge level. I would say you should go into a niche you like and know about. Although I could also say that it’s risky going into a niche, just because you like the niche. Did that mess with your head a bit?

The Thing Is Niches Today Are Competitive

The thing is thousands of marketers like myself have been promoting profitable niches for years. Thousands of us marketers work these niches using money making keywords so of course the competition will be stiff.

If you happen to be new at marketing or stepping into a new niche this means you need to do some good keyword research before you begin. Finding the keywords you can rank for gives you a chance to break into a niche and over time you can even rank for top keywords, like I do.

For Any Success Today Niche Research To Find Keywords Is Vital

Don’t even think about buying a domain until you’re research is complete. Today I do not enter a niche without a domain name I researched that will help me rank better.

Okay, so you do a search in Google looking for info on home gardening and see the three domains listed, which ones give you confidence to click and think about why you would click it.

backyardgardeningtips.com or homegardeningtips.com or hbb2obm.com

When I’m viewing search results in Google or any search engine I of course look at the description as well but right now it’s just about the domain names you see in listing. Personally I will always click the domain name that is niche targeted as they appear to be more authoritative.

Don’t settle for less than a keyworded domain name. Before you take off and buy that domain that’s been on your mind, there’s a bit more to go here.

I Always Think DOT COM For Domain Extensions

Thinking DOT COM is an automatic thing after hearing it for more than a decade. It’s tough not to think DOT COM these days because we hear it day in and day out. I tell all my clients and friends to go for DOT COM domain about all others.

Do to the fact we have so many DOT COM domains that are already keyworded you will find it tougher to find ones you can use. I have had a bit of experience in finding keyword rich domains and have learned a few tricks that can help you get that domain.

  1. Try using an extra word, niche related, to your domain name choice. This is a suffix and works for me.
  2. Couldn’t get your keyword with any suffix you’ve tried then try a prefix using a single word at the beginning.
  3. Add a hyphen or two if the other options haven’t worked.
  4. Using your city or town is a great way to get keyworded domains using a suffix.

Finding domains with your best keywords can take some time but research is your best tool and it works for me. I use a couple of paid tools for this which help me every day. Keyword Elite is a niche research tool that saves me time I can then spend working my sites. I also use Micro Niche Finder to find profitable niches but this tool helps me find those hard to find domains.
