Link Building: Is It Quality Or Quantity That Works

building backlinksI work from home to make my living and I do it online, mostly with article marketing strategies.

Personally when it comes to link building I always prefer keyworded, high quality one way links. I use a variety of methods to get my backlinks. Here are some of the ways I get backlinks that increase my page rank.

You will find plenty of great ebooks on Clickbank, just go to the Clickbank Marketplace and do a search for how to do link building and you will find lot to look at.

Article Marketing To Article Directories

Article marketing is one of my favourite methods for gaining quality backlinks. I pick two or three keywords to work into the article and I use the main keyword for the article as link text for my backlink. The linking for some of the article directories I publish to will only allow a link, maybe two in the bio or resource box. I rewrite each article for every article directory I publish to so that all my content and links are accepted and unique.

Note I always publish to EzineArticles.com first as they are the strictest. I also only publish to directories that have at least a PR4 or better.

Guest Blogging On Niche Related Blogs

I haven’t done much guest blogging myself but I do have a lot of guest bloggers writing content for my blogs. It’s a great way to get quality content that’s unique while I write articles to publish elsewhere for one way backlinks. Guest blogging is the perfect way to have keyworded content and links pointing to your important pages, helping to build page rank and authority in the eyes of the major search engines.

Writing For Article Networks

Besides publishing to article directories like EzineArticles.com I like to write articles and then create spin code using The Best Spinner. The once I have it all right and keyworded for the best results I publish them to article networks like SEOLinkVine.com and ArticleMarketingAutomation.com so that their members can pickup my articles and publish them on their niche related blog.

When you start writing quality keyworded content and publish them on the top article networks you will start to see your backlinks increasing which can quickly increase your page rank and help you gain top positioning in search engines. Give it time though.

Start Commenting on Popular Blogs In Your Niche

I like commenting so much that I use Bloglines.com to keep track of that the blogs in all the niches I work to make money in.

Blog commenting can be powerful, if you comment often and early. I like the blog owner as well as their blog readers to see my comments. If my comment is down at #10 or great it’s not likely to get much attention. Make it good and the #1 comment and you can get the attention of the blog owner which can be a bonus but you can also get a lot of traffic from those blog visitors that read your comment.

Be sure you read the post and add value to the post with your comment. It gets a whole lot more attention and you will get more visits if you add value and not just a ‘great post’ comment, which I just delete on my blogs.

So put aside a bit of time from your busy day to comment on relevant and quality blogs, it pays off in the long run.

Join And Take Part In Relevant Forums

Forums are great for backlinking and getting traffic to your sites, however there are a few things to keep in mind.

  1. Don’t waste your entire day on forums.
  2. Plan your forum time.
  3. Write forum posts that are helpful and informative
  4. Never spam a forum or all your efforts go down the drain.

Now you have a few good methods for gaining those all important backlinks. A couple more things I would like to add before ending this articles is the importance of quality.

  • Don’t lose focus of your keywords
  • Proof read and spell check everything, twice
  • Always be unique with your content

Remember I love getting quality and relevant guest posts, so think about it.

4 Blog Commenting Tips For Success

If you haven’t learned already commenting is a great for building the popularity of your blog with lots of targeted backlinks which can help to gain more directed traffic which in turn is your opportunity to make more money online.

The thing is that you can’t just comment on any blog, you actually need to focus on blogs relevant to your blog’s content or keyword focus.

I always look to see that the blogs I comment on are still active and update regularly, at least a couple times a week. Also due to so much comment spamming these days you will likely find it takes a day or two to get your comments approved.

1. Add Value To The Blog Post: I get hundreds of requests to accept articles each and every day I work online but only a fraction of them get approved. The biggest reason they are rejected is due to comments that hold absolutely no value.

You can stroke my ego all day long and it won’t get your comment accepted. It may have worked the first few times but now they just get rejected. If I see a comment that says nothing about the blog post they are commenting on I am pretty certain it’s automated and just spam.

It’s simple, just don’t play people like they are fools and give our readers something worth reading.

2. The Early Bird Gets The Worm: Being the first on the scene to comment can make a huge difference in your results.

It just makes good sense that those who are late get left behind. So don’t bother blogging on old posts, if they already have lots of comments. But, if you are the first or in the first few most site visitors will get to see your comment, even the blog owner and that can make a huge difference in the traffic to your site.

I use Bloglines to follow blogs because it allows me to see the blogs which have new updates, at a glance, so I can get to them and comment as soon as possible.

3. Link To Relevant But Good Looking Site: As a blogger I don’t want people leaving comments that link to crap sites. I want my readers landing on pages I am not embarrassed to go to and that are relevant to my own content.

4. Look For High PR Blogs To Comment On: It’s simple, sites that are more popular get more traffic, target traffic, so I try to find those sites, relevant to my own content and post comments. It gets me a lot more target traffic.

The more popular the blog is that you wish to comment on the more you need to refer back to point #1 and #2. Add Value and Be The First To Comment.

I have found blog commenting to be just this easy, but it takes regular work on your part, if you want your comments accepted and productive.
